After the original now residing in the Museo Nazionale, Naples. Considered to come originally from Greece, this most celebrated work of art was discovered on 3rd August 1758 at Herculaneum, Pompeii in the peristyle of the Villa Dei Papiri. This bronze is considered 'one of the most beautiful in the world'. This 19th century copy is in remarkably good condition having spent its life as an internal piece and retains a good patination.
