Lee Priory Study Day – 1st March 2016

“Alex, just a quick e mail to tell you that yesterday was a real treat. Thank you so much for letting us into your home and showing us the Lee Priory room and the other items in your architectural collection. The three speakers were all excellent - I learned such a lot from Peter, Philip and Mark but, of course, the highlight of the day was actually lying under the ceiling of the Lee Priory 'library ante chamber'. Oh, and lunch was superb as well. Please thank the caterers and all your other helpers for putting together such a great day - it was worth the drive from Lincoln. I do hope you are able to hold future study days.”

“We both thoroughly enjoyed the day with you. Your enthusiasm and generous hospitality were very winning. The day was well organised and nicely paced. There were plenty of opportunities for us participants to engage both by volunteering information and asking questions. The mix of talks from academic architectural historians and a master craftsman, with input from entrepreneur Alex, provided a rich understanding of what is involved in salvaging, researching and restoring architectural fragments. In preparation for the day, my husband went to look at the Strawberry room from Lee Priory in the V&A. He commented that seeing the Library ante room at Architectural Heritage was the more satisfying experience. We could see how the room was constructed and get close up to the detail of the decoration. It was well displayed. We enjoyed too looking around the outbuildings and seeing the other salvaged pieces as well as the garden ornament collection of Architectural Heritage. Thank you for a splendid day out, and thanks too to the kitchen staff. A hot cooked lunch, with wine, was an unexpected bonus, even if it did make me a bit sleepy for the afternoon talks!”

"I cannot begin to tell you how absolutely thrilled we are with the beautiful Finial and Plinth - it is truly perfect and adds so much to our already wonderful garden which Robert has created for us. Your boys were fantastic – thank you – and put it altogether for us and they put so much into making sure it was all as it should be. We shall send you a photograph later when it is all ready for its photo shoot!! Again thank you and we look forward to our next purchase from you!"

"Thank you so much for organising such a smooth transaction. The planters were delivered in perfect time last Wednesday and look wonderful at the property. It has been a joy working with you on this."

“Alex, again, thanks to you and Architectural Heritage for continuing to supply the most unique new and antique garden artifacts for us. Such detail is one of the things that helps set our gardens apart from the expected. It has been and will continue to be a pleasure doing business with you”.

“The mantle arrived last week and it was installed yesterday. I cannot tell you how incredible it looks. It surpasses my (considerable) expectations. It makes the room – thank you.”

“The urns you carved are truly beautiful, and a wonderful addition and enhancement to a spectactular home – perfect! Thanks for your lovely work.”

“Mr Puddy – The David has been received damage-free. It is stunning and breathtaking. Thank you for helping me through this process”

“Thank you so much. Your two guys were here when we returned from Leicestershire and we are now the proud owners of a new fountain – it looks great. They could not have been more efficient/hard working and charming – how lovely it is to find people like that still exist! Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness and if ever you are in the area do come and see how good it now looks. Will certainly come to Architectural Heritage when next in need of other garden artefacts. With very best wishes from two extremely satisfied customers – thank you again.”

“Thank you so much. We are absolutely delighted with everything – the trough is just the perfect height for the wall, and works better than anything else, and the stonemasons working in the garden, all four of them, were staggered that the urns etc were new – shouldn’t have told them!

We are so pleased, everything is beginning to take shape now in the garden.”

“We are delighted with everything you have provided – they are a superb addition to the garden. Many thanks.”

“The statues and other pieces have arrived and are in situ in the garden. They look great – thank you.”
